Fudgy Red Wine Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup red wine

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the white sugar, brown sugar, oil, vanilla, and red wine until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking until smooth between each addition. 

  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir together with a spatula until smooth. 

  5. In a small bowl, add the cherries and 2 tbsp of flour. Stir the cherries until they are completely coated in the flour. This will prevent the cherries from sinking to the bottom during baking. 

  6. Line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper. Pour the brownie batter into the pan and spread into an even layer. 

  7. Bake the brownies for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 30 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
