Pizza Flavored Toasted Bowtie Pasta Chips

Yield: 3 cups of chips Active Time: 35 minutes Cook Time: 4 hours and 25 minutes Total Time: 5 hours

Ingredients

  • I box Banza farfalle pasta

  • ¼ cup + 2 tbsp olive oil 

  • ½ cup tomato paste

  • 2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 2 tsp dried oregano 

  • 2 tsp dried basil 

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper 

  • ½ cup parmesan; finely grated

  • ½ cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. 

  2. On a parchment lined baking sheet, spread the tomato paste out into a thin layer. 

  3. Bake for 4 hours until you are able to peel the paste off of the parchment paper in a dry sheet. 

  4. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. 

  5. Boil 5 quarts of water in a pot. Heavily salt and add the pasta. Boil for 10 minutes and drain. 

  6. Lay all of the pasta in an even layer onto a paper towel and pat dry. 

  7. In a large bowl, toss the pasta in ¼ cup of olive oil. 

  8. In a food processor, add the dried tomato paste, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, parmesan, and breadcrumbs. 

  9. Pulse until all of the ingredients are thoroughly combined and form a fine powder. 

  10. Add the powder to the pasta and toss together until they are all evenly and completely coated. 

  11. Spread the pasta out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over top and bake for 20 minutes. 

  12. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
