Spicy Red Pepper Hummus

Yield: 2 cups of hummus Active Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 15 oz canned, cooked chickpeas 

  • 1 lemon; juiced

  • 1 clove garlic; roasted

  • Canned spicy red peppers

  • ½ cup tahini

  • ½ tsp cumin

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes

  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper 

Instructions

  1. Add all of the ingredients except for the lemon juice and olive oil into a food processor. Blend on high speed until combined. 

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the lemon juice and olive oil. On low speed, slowly stream in lemon juice and olive oil and blend until the hummus is smooth and creamy. You can add small amounts of cold water in order to achieve a creamy texture.

  3. Top with chile paste and serve.
