  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef (ribeye) sirloin is a leaner option
  • 1 onion yellow or white for best taste
  • 1 bell pepper any color works well
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced fresh is recommended
  • 1 tbsp olive oil substitute with butter if preferred
  • to taste salt and pepper adjust according to preference
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, shredded combine with mozzarella for a perfect melt
  • optional fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté the onion and bell pepper in olive oil over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  4. Mix in the thinly sliced ribeye beef and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned.
  5. Slice the Italian bread lengthwise and scoop out some of the soft interior.
  6. Fill each half of the bread with the cheesesteak mixture and top with provolone cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven on a baking sheet for 10-15 minutes.
