How to Make Italian Love Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth, then gradually blend in the eggs.
- In another bowl, mix Devil's Food Cake mix, canola oil, water, and eggs until just combined.
- Pour the chocolate cake batter into the prepared baking dish, then gently pour the ricotta mixture over it.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes. Check for doneness.
- Once baked, let the cake cool to room temperature.
- In another bowl, whisk chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until thickened, then fold in whipped topping.
- After the cake has cooled, spread the pudding mixture evenly over the top and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
