Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan, combine the unsalted butter, light brown sugar, unsulfured molasses, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Heat over low, stirring gently until smooth.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the Chex cereal and optional nuts. Pour the melted mixture evenly over the cereal, stirring gently to coat.
- Spread the coated mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown and aromatic.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet.
- Transfer the festive Gingerbread Chex Mix into bowls or festive containers to serve or gift.
