- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium heat and sauté onion and celery until softened, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, add French bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, diced apples, toasted pecans, and fresh herbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together chicken broth and beaten eggs, then pour this mixture over the stuffing base, stirring until moistened.
- Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish, covering with aluminum foil.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden-brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
