- Begin by peeling and chopping the russet potatoes into uniform one-inch pieces.
- Place the chopped potatoes into a large pot filled with cold, salted water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then simmer until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Carefully drain the potatoes and return them to the hot pot. Allow them to steam for a few minutes.
