How to Make Delicious Homemade Cranberry-Apple Compote
- Begin by rinsing your fresh cranberries, discarding any that are squishy. Peel and chop your apples into bite-sized pieces.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix together the cranberries, chopped apples, granulated sugar, and water. Stir gently until bubbling.
- Once bubbling, stir in the ground cinnamon and cook until most cranberries have burst, about 10-12 minutes.
- Remove from heat and fold in the toasted walnuts, blending them with the mixture.
- Allow to cool at room temperature before transferring to a serving dish or airtight container.
