  • 1 pound Ground Beef can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup or use cream of chicken
  • 1/2 cup Milk can use whole or dairy-free milk
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or use fresh garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder or substitute with finely chopped fresh onions
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 cup Corn drained; can use frozen corn
For the Topping
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese preferably cheddar, but can substitute with Monterey Jack
  • 1 bag Frozen Tater Tots for a healthier twist, try sweet potato tots

Method
 

How to Make Cowboy Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks, and drain any excess fat.
  3. Add cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet, stirring until well combined.
  4. Grease a baking dish and spread the beef mixture evenly across the bottom. Layer the drained corn over the beef, then sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
  5. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
  6. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Allow the casserole to rest for a few minutes before serving.
