How to Make Luscious Sweet Cranberry and Fig Relish
  1. Rinse the fresh cranberries and toss out any that are discolored. Finely chop the dried figs into small pieces for even distribution.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, chopped figs, sugar, apple cider vinegar, orange zest, and water over medium heat. Stir gently but thoroughly to mix all ingredients together.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries start bursting and the relish thickens.
  4. Once cooked, take the pan off the heat and allow the relish to cool completely in the pan. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
  5. Transfer your delightful relish to an airtight container and refrigerate it for up to two weeks.
