How to Make Luscious Sweet Cranberry and Fig Relish
- Rinse the fresh cranberries and toss out any that are discolored. Finely chop the dried figs into small pieces for even distribution.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, chopped figs, sugar, apple cider vinegar, orange zest, and water over medium heat. Stir gently but thoroughly to mix all ingredients together.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries start bursting and the relish thickens.
- Once cooked, take the pan off the heat and allow the relish to cool completely in the pan. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
- Transfer your delightful relish to an airtight container and refrigerate it for up to two weeks.

Notes
For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon during the simmering phase.
