  • 2 ripe Persimmons Can be replaced with apples or pears.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Turmeric Fresh turmeric may also be used, grated.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Can substitute with dried ginger, use less.
  • 4 cups Water Use hot water for proper infusion.
Sweetening
  • to taste Honey or Maple Syrup Consider agave syrup or stevia as alternatives.

Method
 

Tea Preparation
  1. Wash the ripe persimmons, halve them and scoop the flesh into a blender. Peel and thinly slice the fresh ginger.
  2. Combine persimmon flesh, sliced ginger, ground turmeric, and hot water in the blender. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a clean pot to remove pulp.
  4. Gently heat the strained tea over low flame, mix in honey or maple syrup to desired sweetness, and stir until dissolved.
  5. Let the tea simmer for about 5 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Pour tea into cups, optionally garnish with ginger slices or persimmons, and enjoy.
