Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet with olive oil over medium heat for 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally and drain any excess fat.
- Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in the same skillet until the onion is soft and translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
- Layer the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Add thinly sliced potatoes seasoned with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Top with cheddar and Parmesan cheese. Pour beef broth or water around the edges and drizzle with milk if desired.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
